Spring for it !

So the birds are chirping, my backyard is coming back to life, my eyes are puffy, and my nose is itchy.  It’s that time of year when the strawberries are plump and plentiful, and “Sunshine on My Shoulders Makes Me Happy” is more than a song. It’s Spring ~ when J Crew, Banana Republic, and Target beckon, and my Boden catalog yells at me to buy, buy, buy — which I undoubtedly will.

‘Tis the season, also, where I like to act like I’m a seasoned stylist and fashionista. Seasoned, I am. Stylist, not so much. But I like to pretend.

Here’s what I’ve culled from perusing the latest issues of a bunch of different magazines.

From neon to jewel tones to pastel, anything goes!

And GREEN  reigns supreme as the #1 color of 2013!!!

Everything’s in full bloom…

CUT IT OUT!!!!!!!

(I’ll do the handbag. My daughters can do the dresses.)

(I think I’ll pass on this one.)

(A must-buy…if you ask

block heel sandals

In a CLUTCH? Try one of these.
Love ’em…..

The LACEY days of Spring…

I don’t often get beyond excited. But when I do…

I get beyond excited for

SPRING shopping. :)

About Me

It's true! Despite playing defense virtually all my life against the onslaught of this sometimes-ugly aging process, it...has...arrived! I naively thought I would escape cellulite (the Cottage Cheese) and crow's feet (the Crepe Paper). But I didn't! And why didn't anyone tell me about this emotional roller-coaster that comes with being an Empty-Nester?! My name is Jodie Barringer Myers. I'm a 54-year-old Friday/chardonnay/ hydrangea-loving wife/mom/court reporter living in Sacramento (Gold River!), California. Writing is cathartic for me. And because I look to find humor and humility among the rubble that is my now very peri-menopausal self, I'm hopeful that you will laugh, cry, learn, enjoy and, most of all, relate to what I have to say. After all, we're all in this together, right?
